指的就是好兄弟约一约一同打发时刻, 如出外郊游, 或是在家看录像带都可以叫 hang out。例如
You know that Tony is a slacker, but he is really cool to hang out with so keep him around and give him good reviews.
你晓得Tony是个混混，长于消磨时刻，所以让他留下来还要夸奖他。
" It was not a party. It was just a get- together . You know , come over and hang out, " the person said.
这人说：“其时咱们并没有开派对，只是一个兄弟集会，就是我们过来，一同玩玩。”
Hang out 的用法不限制于男女兄弟之间. 男女兄弟之间的约会叫 date, 而比照正式的约会则是 appointment. 所以要清楚白, 否则会闹笑话. 比方说老板跟你约下午三点 meeting, 你要说 I have an appointment with my boss, 而不能说 I have a date with my boss.
