在学校读书时，你算“学霸”还是“学渣”？“学霸” 原指把持学术话语的人，“霸”表示“to dominate, lord over, tyrannize over or rule by force.”

但在网络用语中，“学霸”的含义与其本意不同。如果一个人被称为“学霸”，那么他应该是一个刻苦努力的学生（hard-working student），成绩优秀（get excellent scores on exam），知识丰富（have extensive knowledge），英文可以翻译为“scholar-lord, straight A student”。
而与“学霸”相反，“学渣”通常指那些成绩落后，对
学习不感兴趣的学生（poor students who do not show interest in studying），可以译为“study slacker”。这个表达常用于自我调侃。

马冬昕和马冬晗是一对双胞胎，她们是清华大学的“学霸”姐妹花。
