作为雅思口语一月份亮相的新话题，Robots算是得到了大家足够的重视。我们对Robots其实并不陌生，我们随处都能看到，无论是从小玩儿到大的玩具，还是微博视频上传得火热的智能聊天美女机器人，或是科幻电影里未来世界企图霸占地球的大反派们。其实更专业点儿的人士会告诉你，机器人不一定非得是“人型”的哦，百度说，机器人是“自动执行工作的机器装置”，不过考雅思的时候，用不着这么刨根问底，把听到问题后，第一时间反应出来的答案脱口而出就行了，20秒就差不多喽：
1. Are you interested in robots? Why?
Um… Not really. I mean, I’m not a science buff. I’m not that into things like robots. And to be honest, I’m kind of afraid of them. Maybe that’s because I’ve watched too many science fictions, I always feel that one day, when science and technology is super advanced, robots will take over the earth and destroy human beings. And in some areas, it’s already happening, you know, robots have replaced human labor in many industries.
2. Do you like robots to work at your home?
Well, if the robots could help with housework, then I definitely welcome them to my home. Actually, we already have an automatic vacuum cleaner right now. In the future, I hope that more robots with various functions can be invented so that we no longer have to do housework by ourselves.
3. Do you want to take a car in which robot is the driver?
I don’t see why not. I mean, I’m the kind of person who’s always curious about new inventions, and I would be elated if I could be the first one to try it. People might be concerned about the safety, but that won’t bother me at all, I’m sure the safety is guaranteed already, otherwise they won’t allow the car to run on the road.
4. What sorts of things can robots do today?
Well, some robots could be programmed to do some simple repetitive work, for example, in some factories, human labor has already been replaced by robots. And I believe there must be other things they could do that I don’t know about. Like, there might be intelligent robots that can perform to entertain people or to interact with people, that sort of thing.
5. What do you think robots might be able to do in people's homes in the future?
Well, in the future, robots are likely to fill in many roles in our home. For example, we could have robot maids and robot babysitters who can take care of our children. And when we are busy and don’t have time to walk our dog, robots can do it for us, so it’s like, robot dog-walkers. And most importantly, in the future, it’s highly possible that robots could be so intelligent that they could have an interactive conversation with people, so they could keep us company. This is extremely necessary for people w
ho live alone.
6. Will robots replace human beings in the workplace completely?
Well, I highly doubt it. No matter how intelligent they are, it’s impossible for robots to have emotions, just like we do. So they might be able to give us a hand with simply tasks, but they’ll never be capable of dealing with complex work, for instance, things that involve interpersonal relationship.
7. Do you think robots might be dangerous in the future?
Well, I don’t think so, at least not in the foreseeable future. I mean, just like I said, they don’t have emotions, they are programmed to do things for us, so I don’t think they would pose any threat to us. However, part of me is still a little bit concerned that what happened in the science fiction might one day come true.
8. How do you think robots will influence society in the future?
Well, I strongly believe that robots will play more important roles in different areas in our society. Take science research for example, robots could get to places that are too risky for humans. And in our daily life, robots could take care of the household chores for us, which will make our life so much easier.
